Anxiety is a problem that affects many people all over the world. Many people struggle with common daily tasks, job, studies, relationships because of uncontrolled anxiety issues. Anxiety causes both psychological and physical problems. For instance, we know that anxiety and stress affect our immune system. Many people know about the positive health effects of CBD oil. However, there are also many users who are confused about the different cannabis by products and their characteristics. For example, many users don’t know the difference between hemp oil and CBD. The fastest way to tell the difference is by looking at the labels and the ingredients.

If you don’t really know the differences between hemp oil and CBD, don’t worry, in this blog post we are going to explain the difference between hemp oil and cannabidiol.

What’s Hemp Oil?

Ripe hemp seeds in bag.
Ripe hemp seeds in bag.

The difference between hemp oil and CBD is simple. Hemp oil is a cold-pressed extract of cannabis seeds. It’s a similar process as obtaining any other seed oil such as sunflower seed oil or colza oil. Hemp oil is rich in antioxidants and its very healthy. In addition, it’s commonly used to dress salads. Moreover, it’s used as a moisturizer and there are some people who claim it has neuroprotective properties. Furthermore, hemp oil is used to give flavor to dishes. However, it isn’t suitable as a cooking oil because it has a low smoke point.

Hemp seeds don’t contain any cannabinoids and therefore it doesn’t have any psychoactive properties.

What’s CBD Oil?

CBD oil and marijuana.
CBD oil and marijuana.

CBD oil is obtained by extracting CBD from the plant material. There are many extraction methods: solvent-based ones and solvent free methods. For the solvent-based methods, usually butane or ethanol are used to extract the cannabinoids from the plant material.

However, some users prefer solvent-free methods such as CO2 extraction or extraction of cannabinoids with filters, for example, bubble hash extraction.

1. Psychoactive vs Non-psychoactive

It’s common to mention that CBD isn’t psychoactive. However, this is not entirely correct. It’s more correct to say that CBD isn’t entheogenic or psychedelic. Why? Because CBD has mood-altering effects and therefore it has psychoactive properties.

Nonetheless, CBD doesn’t get you “high”. Therefore, cannabidiol is commonly defined as an active compound of cannabis but not a psychoactive one.

On the other hand, hemp oil, which is obtained from hemp seeds, does not contain cannabinoids and hence, it’s not psychoactive.

2. They are used for different purposes

Hemp oil is mainly used as a food supplement to dress salads or to add flavor to the food. On the other hand, CBD oil is mainly used for medical purposes to treat anxiety or for its anti-inflammatory properties. This is the main difference between hemp oil and CBD.

3. Hemp Oil vs CBD Oil: Health Benefits

Hemp oil is just a food supplement. It’s a healthy and natural oil, but it doesn’t have medical properties like CBD oil. The extraction methods are also completely different.

Hemp oil or hemp seed oil is made by cold pressing hemp seeds to create a nutrient rich oil.  Cold pressing produces some heat through friction. However, the seeds aren’t precooked, in other words, the oil retains aroma, flavor and natural antioxidants.

CBD oil, as we have previously pointed out, is extracted using both solvent or solvent-free methods. Some people prefer solvent-free methods as they considered it more natural.

The difference between hemp oil and CBD is about how these two oils are used. Basically, hemp seed oil is mainly a culinary oil while cannabidiol is both a medical oil and culinary (there are many CBD edibles).

Both CBD and hemp oil seed are obtained from hemp plant, but only CBD oil contains cannabidiol.

Many people get confused because hemp seed oil is often marketed as “hemp oil”. Any time you see “hemp oil” it actually means hemp seed oil. In addition to being used as a food supplement, hemp oil is also used in beauty products.

4. Price: CBD oil vs Hemp Oil

CBD oils is much more expensive than hemp seed oil. Many hemp oil products are marketed as cannabidiol ones. Don’t get confused, a cannabis leaf doesn’t mean that the product contains CBD. Remember, hemp oil (hemp seed oil) does not contain any cannabinoids.

In conclusion, if you find CBD oil that is very cheap, it is most likely hemp seed oil with no cannabidiol.  Check the labels and make sure the product is CBD oil and not hemp seed oil.

5. Where to Buy it.

Both CBD and hemp oil are found in the same places. You can buy CBD and hemp seed oil at a pharmacy grocery store and other food supplement stores. CBD oil could be purchased online and reputable CBD brands are also sold in some pharmacies. On the other hand, hemp seed oil is more widely available and easily found at any grocery store. However, remember that hemp seed oil doesn’t contain any cannabidiol. Nonetheless, it’s a healthy oil with healthy fatty acids and antioxidants.

Conclusion: Difference Between Hemp Oil and CBD

The main difference between them is their CBD content. Hemp oil doesn’t contain any cannabidiol while CBD oils contain different cannabidiol levels.

Consequently, hemp oil (hemp seed oil) and CBD oil doesn’t produce the same effect. In addition, they are not used for the same purposes. Hemp seed oil is mainly used as a food supplement, while CBD oil is used for its medical properties and also as a food supplement.

Furthermore, cannabidiol oil is much more expensive than hemp seed oil. The extraction method is also completely different. For example, hemp seed oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds while cannabidiol oils are obtained by using many methods (both solvent and solvent-free methods).

When you vape, you will vape CBD oil and not hemp seed oils. Some people get confused by these two different oils. In conclusion, remember to check the labels and price and always buy them from reputable distributors and providers. It’s important to avoid black market cannabis products as they might be altered with dangerous substances.

CBD has become a multibillion business with many potential health benefits and one FDA approved drug to treat epilepsy. Many people still wonder if CBD is legal or illegal and whether the FDA has outlawed CBD and hemp oil or not. Has FDA outlaw CBD and hemp oil? The short answer is ‘no’. However, the FDA hasn’t approved any CBD product that claim medical properties except for the aforementioned drug to treat epilepsy.

Some CBD products are being marketed with unproven medical claims and are of unknown quality. These are the kind of products the FDA target, especially the ones that have been marketed as ‘food supplements’. Under federal law, it’s illegal to market any CBD product as a dietary supplement.

What’s CBD Exactly?

Hemp is the term used to define a cannabis plant that contains very low THC concentrations.
Hemp is the term used to define a cannabis plant that contains very low THC concentrations.

CBD is a cannabinoid found in cannabis. There are two terms that usually are confused: hemp and cannabis (marijuana). Basically, hemp is the term used to define a cannabis plant that contains very low THC concentrations. In other words, very low concentrations of the psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Under federal law, only CBD products containing less that 0.3% of THC are legal.

CBD is mainly used to treat two forms of child epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome. The FDA has only approved CBD for this specific purpose. However, CBD is also widely used to treat anxiety and anger. Many people claim improvements after a prolonged used of CBD.

These products still need to be researched and that’s why the FDA hasn’t approved any CBD products that have been marketed as “dietary supplements”.

CBD is the second most prevalent cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. CBD obtained from hemp plant is legal in the US as these cannabis plants contain neglectable amounts of THC, which is the psychoactive cannabinoid. Nonetheless, cannabis plants are still illegal in most parts of the US.

Even though we still need more research about CBD, there are many people who claim that CBD does wonders to alleviate anxiety. In this video, Joe Rogan talks about CBD and how it relieves his anxiety:

Joe Rogan about CBD.

Does CBD have any Dangers?

Another problem with CBD product is that many CBD products contain much less CBD than claimed on the label.
Another problem with CBD product is that many CBD products contain much less CBD than claimed on the label.

It has some dangers, especially because there are so many products that haven’t been tested. For example, some CBD products have been promoted as good for pets, but there are also some CBD products that have caused liver damage to pets. In other words, do not give CBD products to your pet before consulting to a vet.

Another problem with CBD product is that many CBD products contain much less CBD than claimed on the label.

The FDA wants to know to what extent CBD can cause any negative health impact or interaction with other drugs or medicines.

CBD and Ongoing Researches

CBD is still under exhaustive research.
CBD is still under exhaustive research.

Researches are still ongoing and according to FDA, CBD products can:

  • Cause liver damage (some so called CBD products may contain other substances that can cause liver damage). It hasn’t been proved that CBD causes liver damage, the FDA is researching only potential liver damage caused by CBD intake.
  • CBD can affect how other drugs you are taking work, potentially causing serious side effects and interactions (that’s why more research about dosage is important).
  • “Use of CBD with alcohol or other drugs that slow brain activity, such as those used to treat anxiety, panic, stress, or sleep disorders, increases the risk of sedation and drowsiness, which can lead to injuries”.
  • It may also cause male reproductive toxicity or damage to offspring of women that have been exposed to CBD. More research is needed about CBD and toxicity.
  • Finally, CBD may have some side effects such as changes in alertness, diarrhea and changes in mood. Therefore, it’s important to address what happens if you take CBD daily for a prolonged time and how do the different intake methods affect us.

FDA outlaws CBD and hemp oil? No, the FDA does not outlaw CBD or hemp oil. However, it does not approve any CBD product promoted as a dietary supplement.

FDA outlaws CBD and hemp oil? What Does FDA say About CBD?

Other than the aforementioned prescription CBD drug to treat two rare forms of epilepsy, the FDA has not approved any other CBD product. This stems from the lack of information about side effects, dosage and long-term effects caused by CBD.

Claims that the FDA outlaws CBD and hemp oil are not true. The FDA is responsible for the approval of CBD products and to determine its potential usage. Taking CBD with other medications may increase or decrease the effects of the other medications. Therefore, the FDA needs more information about CBD dosage in order to approve its use as a dietary supplement. In addition, CBD experiments with animals have shown male reproductive toxicity. However, further testing is needed to determine to what extent it can negatively affect the human male reproductive system and fertility.

Basically, the FDA needs to determine the cumulative exposure, effects on elderly, children etc., and the effect of CBD on animals.

The quality of many CBD products may be in question. Many of these products have not been subject to any FDA evaluation. For example, the FDA has warned companies to stop market any products they state prevent cancer, help to treat Alzheimer’s disease or psychiatric disorders or even diabetes. These claims could be dangerous for vulnerable people.

In conclusion, the FDA warns consumers to think carefully before consuming products that haven’t passed any quality controls. For example, claiming that it cures cancer or any other disease.

Conclusion: FDA Outlaws CBD and Hemp Oil?

The FDA has only approved one product to treat two forms of epilepsy. Any other CBD products that has been marketed as “dietary supplement” is not FDA approved. In addition, FDA has tested the chemical content of cannabinoid compounds in some products, and many were found to not contain the levels of CBD they claimed to contain. Furthermore, the FDA publishes every year a letter containing the names and information of companies that market CBD products that contain less CBD that what they claim. If you want to access these lists you can click here.

Stay informed and only choose good quality CBD products. We need to understand that the CBD industry is “new” with lots of products and still many ongoing researches. Some people claim that FDA outlaws CBD and hemp oil, however, this claim is partially right. FDA does not outlaw CBD and hemp oil, instead, it has just approved one CBD drug to treat epilepsy. Further research is needed to approve other CBD products.

A CBD vape pen is a pen style vape that is available in two forms: refillable pens and disposables.  CBD vape pens are used exclusively for CBD vape juices. Usually, CBD vape pens are discreet as CBD vaping isn’t designed for massive vapor production. The key with a CBD vape pen is bioavailability (the proportion of a drug or other substance which enters the circulation when introduced into the body and so is able to have an active effect) and vaping performance (how well the device vaporizes cannabis oils). In addition, it’s important to remember the importance of a vape pen that is efficient in the vaporization of viscous vape juices such as CBD or THC e-liquids.

Disposable Cartridges

Fatty disposable cartridge
Fatty disposable cartridge

There are CBD vape pens that are disposable. A disposable CBD vape pen is convenient and practical. It consists of a battery and an atomizer prefilled with CBD vape oil. A disposable CBD vape pen provides approximately about hundred puffs and then it’s time to replace it for a new cartridge.

As mentioned above, disposable CBD cartridges are convenient and practical. You don’t need to worry about refilling a tank, just vape it and then dispose it.

Usually, disposable cartridges are auto-draw devices, which means that you don’t need to press any firing button.

What are the Pros and Cons of Disposable Cartridges?

They are very practical CBD vape pens. You won’t find a wide variety of CBD flavors and strengths though, which is a disadvantage compared with refillable cartridges. Moreover, they are affordable, and they require very low maintenance.

Nonetheless, disposable CBD vape pens are not available for DTL vaping, which is a disadvantage if you like a direct to lung vaping style.

Refillable Cartridges

Fatty refillable cartridge
Fatty refillable cartridge

The other common option for CBD vaping are refillable cartridges. These cartridges are usually more cost-effective in the long run. CBD vape pens consist of a battery and a tank. They provide a simple pen style format like CBD vapes with disposable cartridges. This pen style vape is smaller and lighter than typical vape mods.

Some CBD vape pens are suitable for DTL vaping. Although most pod systems and vape kits are designed for nicotine vaping, many of them could be used for CBD vaping as well. However, if you are looking for a discreet option, then probably a pod system is more suitable for CBD vaping than a powerful sub-ohm device.

Pros and Cons of Refillable Cartridges

A refillable CBD vape is a better option if you are planning to vape for years. In other words, it’s more cost effective in the long run. However, they are not as discreet as a disposable CBD pen.

On the other hand, a refillable vape pen usually has more options such as adjustable airflow and wattage. That is to say, you can adapt your vaping to your needs.

Direct lung sub-ohm devices are suitable for lower CBD strengths as they provide every puff with more vapor. On the other hand, MTL is better suited for higher concentrations of CBD, as it would take far more puffs to achieve the same desired result if you used the same cannabidiol concentration in both vapes.

CBD Vape Pen: Conclusion

There are two main types of vaping devices for CBD vaping: disposable and refillable vapes.

Disposable CBD vapes are easier to use and cheaper. However, they also have less features and they are suitable for MTL but not for DTL vaping.

Refillable CBD vape pens are more cost effective in the long run. In addition, they have more features. Nonetheless, they are also more difficult to use and not as convenient as disposable cartridges.

CBD has become so popular that many companies are considering the idea of creating products with CBD. For example, Coca-Cola has considered adding CBD to their products or Mondelez (Oreo, Chips Ahoy!) are also considering adding CBD to their cookies.

CBD has become a craze and most people don’t know that much about it than it comes from cannabis (hemp) and that it’s supposedly very healthy. As you know, there are many intake methods, and CBD vape is one of them, but to what extent is CBD healthy? Is it a panacea as many people claim?

There are so many alleged health benefits attributed to CBD that at times it’s overwhelming and confusing. For instance, I have even read articles about coronavirus and how CBD could be used as a treatment for it…

We don’t want to contribute to the dissemination of fake news that attribute magical properties to CBD!! Therefore, we believe that it is necessary to give truthful information and consistent with what we really know about CBD. That’s why, in this post, we will make a list of 10 important facts that you should know about CBD.

1. CBD Vapes doesn’t get you high

We have written about it many times. However, you might have noticed that we don’t say that CBD isn’t psychoactive, instead, we say that CBD doesn’t get you “high”. Why? Because CBD has mood-altering capabilities. For instance, people who suffer from anxiety or stress will experience a reduce anxiety and stress after a prolonged use of CBD. Consequently, CBD is psychoactive! But it won’t cause you any “high”…

2. CBD and Pets

Believe or not, some people are giving CBD to their pets. Honestly, I don’t recommend you giving CBD to your pet unless you consult it with your vet first. For instance, there is some news about pets developing allergic reactions to CBD products. Obviously, a CBD vape isn’t suitable for your pet, but there are edibles (like chewable treats).

Vets aren’t entirely convinced about giving CBD products to pets. Remember that we still need a lot of research to determine to what extent CBD is useful, dosage and side effects. In other words, do not treat your pet with CBD without consulting it first with a vet.

3. Lack of Regulations

There’s a lack of regulations and this is a problem because many CBD products contain too little CBD while many times products contain more THC than what the labels say. If you buy CBD vape products, edibles, tinctures, etc., you should know what the product contains and also its concentrations. Furthermore, CBD products that contain more THC that what the labels say might be considered illegal under federal law (remember that CBD products cannot contain more than 0.3% of THC). In addition, you might get into trouble if you need to take a drug test for a job and unconsciously you are consuming CBD products that contain higher THC levels than what the label says.

We need more regulation and a better understanding of the quality and content of most of CBD products. For instance, for CBD vapes, we only recommend you to buy e-liquids and oils from reputable brands.

4. There Are Many Ways to Consume CBD

Edibles, tinctures, oils, creams, shampoos, CBD vapes…There are so many ways to consume CBD that sometimes it could be a bit overwhelming to choose one or another intake method. For example, you can even find mineral waters that contain CBD!

Not all the intake methods have the same properties and effects. For instance, although edibles don’t cause instant effects, they last for a longer time. On the other hand, if you are looking for instant effects, CBD vapes are the best option for you.

5. Solvent and Solvent-Free Methods

There are both solvent and solvent-free extraction methods. We have explained these methods before. Solvent methods usually employ butane or alcohol while solvent-free ones use CO2 or traditional methods such as ice and screens.

6. FDA and CBD

The FDA is getting involved. They are aware that some companies are marketing products containing cannabis and cannabis-derived compounds in ways that violate the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) and that may put the health and safety of consumers at risk.

The current situation, with covid-19 spreading throughout the world, has prompted many people to look for alternatives to improve their immune systems. We still know relatively little when it comes to CBD and the immune system. However, there are promising studies about CBD and its positive impact on our immune systems.

Cannabis Sativa has been consumed for thousands of years for medical and nutritional purposes. The Shennong Ben Cao Jing, a Chinese treaty of medicine from the 2nd century CE recommends marijuana and hemp plants for various medical therapies. Even in ancient Greece and Rome cannabis was used relieve pain and as an entheogen. Back then nobody knew how or why cannabis relieved pain, it was just helpful and that was all that mattered.

Nowadays, we know that CBD has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the immune’s system inflammatory response. This is important for people who suffer from autoimmune diseases.

How Does the Immune System Work?

The immune system is the body’s defense against infections by attacking germs and helping us keep healthy. White cell or leukocytes play an important role in the immune system. In addition, other cells like phagocytes phagocyte (cells that are capable of absorbing-engulfing-bacteria and other small cells) invading organisms while lymphocyte (natural killer cells, t-cells and B cells).

This video explains how our immune system works.

Natural Killer Cells or Large Granular Lymphocytes are very aggressive, and they don’t have immunological memory, which means they attack any pathogen that enters our system. Furthermore, they also attack tumor cells.

T-cells provide immune-mediated cell death. T-cells have immunological memory and are responsible for cell immunity and for the activation of macrophage cells (cells that engulf unwanted particles and phagocyte them).

Another important type of lymphocytes are B cells, which are responsible for the secretion of antibodies. They are fundamental for the activation of humoral immunity, i.e. antibody production.

CBD and the Immune System: How to Boost Your Immune System?

We don’t know exactly how lifestyle interacts with our immune system. For the moment, there are not scientific proven links between lifestyle and immune system. We know, however, that certain habits can help us improve our immune system. CBD and the immune system could be one of these good habits. But, how does CBD or other substances interact with our immune system and why do they help to boost it?

As previously mentioned, we know that CBD has anti-inflammatory properties. These anti-inflammatory properties can help reduce our immune system anti-inflammatory response.

The immune system is a complex system and to improve its efficacy we need to have a balanced lifestyle. Food, lifestyle vitamins can contribute to boost it. However, scientists are still trying to prove how exercise, age, food or any other factors can contribute to improve our immune response. According to Harvard University, there are some healthy strategies that can boost your immune system:

1. Don’t smoke (you can switch to vaping, a safer nicotine intake alternative).

2. Eat fruit and vegetables.

3. Healthy weight.

4. Moderate alcohol consumption.

5. Get enough sleep.

6. Good hygiene to avoid infections.

7. Try to reduce stress.

Conclusion

As you can see, good sleeping habits and reduce stress are also two important factors to improve our immune system. CBD can help us reduce stress and also to deal with insomnia.

CBD is an excellent supplement (thanks to its stress relief properties and as a treatment for insomnia) to help you boost your immune system combined with a healthy lifestyle and food habits.

In conclusion, CBD and the immune system could help us improve the body’s response to infection. There are many theories, but the only evidence is that both reduce stress and good sleeping habits boost your immune system. CBD helps us to deal with anxiety and stress, which are two factor that have a very negative impact on our immune systems.

CBD has become very popular to treat anxiety, pain and anger. Many people vape CBD for anxiety treatment as CBD is very effective when it’s used correctly at tackling anxiety and pain. However, some vapers are worried if CBD can affect a drug screening.

There are many ways to consume CBD, and vaping is by far one of the most popular and effective consumption methods. In addition, vaping isn’t just an effective intake method, but also a fun and enjoyable way to get the most of your CBD.

CBD is legal in a lot of countries across the world. Most of CBD users take CBD for anxiety and pain management. However, there are many CBD users that are still very confused whether CBD will make them fail a drug test or not.

We have already addressed this issue before, but to shed light upon the matter, we will further explain what you should know about CBD and drug screening tests.

Why Some Enterprises Do Drug Tests to Their Employees?

There are many reasons why employers carry out a drug test. Usually, employers request drug tests to check whether the employees have been using illegal substances or not. Perhaps you think this is an invasion of your privacy, but many jobs have these policies, which means that if you want to get a job in one of these companies, you need to comply.

However, if you only use CBD you don’t need to worry about a drug test and cannabinoids. Usually, drug tests will check for cannabinoids that are still illegal in many countries such as THC. THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid that will get you “high”.

Consequently, many employees will screen and request a drug test for THC. THC is one of the main cannabinoids in many cannabis strains. Nonetheless, there are many cannabis strains (hemp) that contain less than 0.3% of THC. In other words, you need to check for CBD products that contain very low THC levels or no THC at all (for example, CBD isolates). CBD isolates would be the safest option to avoid failing a drug test. However, CBD oils with very low quantities of CBD are also a safe option (remember that CBD oil from hemp cannot contain more than 0.3% of THC).

Whether you take CBD for anxiety or pain management, remember to use only CBD oils with less than 0.3 % of THC or CBD isolates if you work or intend to work for a company that request regular drug tests.

Will CBD Show Up in a Drug Test?

Usually companies will carry out drug tests through urine samples. In these urine samples companies rarely check for CBD. These tests are usually carried out to detect THC, which means that you don’t need to worry about CBD in your urine. It’s not common to request a test for CBD. In other words, a company would need to request a specific test to detect CBD, which means more expensive tests.

It’s very unlikely that a company would check for CBD. Furthermore, CBD is now legal in many countries and states. As long as you don’t have high THC levels in your urine, you don’t need to worry about failing a drug test.

THC usually stays for 3 days for a single use to less than 30 days in heavy cannabis smokers.

Cannabis Urine Test
Cannabis Urine Test

Urine tests are the most common ones and they vary depending on the time of the day when the sample is taken. For instance, concentrations are higher in the early morning.

In addition, there are other tests such as saliva testing, blood tests and hair testing. However, it’s unlikely that a company will request a saliva, blood or hair test for a drug screening.

What Do You Need to Do to Avoid Any Problems?

Firstly, if you are unlucky enough to work for an employer that carries out regular drug screenings, there are a few things you can do.

Firstly, you should avoid CBD products that contain any THC. In the US, CBD products cannot contain more than 0.3% of THC and in the UK, it cannot contain more than 0.2% of THC. Even though these are very low THC levels, it still poses a risk of failing a drug test. Consequently, you better avoid any CBD products that contain THC.

Furthermore, it would be useful to find out if your employer is able to detect CBD. If not, then you can calm down and reduce stress before taking the test. However, CBD for anxiety is widely accepted and it’s unlikely that an employer would care about testing your urine for CBD.

Conclusion: Vaping CBD for Anxiety and Drug Screening

Most of companies will not test whether you have CBD in your system or not. However, if you work for a company that schedules regular urine tests for drug screening, then consider taking only CBD isolates. Finally, try to find out what type of drug screening your employer uses, as this will help you determine whether they are able to detect CBD or not.

Since the 2018 Farm Bill, the production of hemp has been legalized under certain conditions. For instance, hemp cannot contain more than 0.3% of THC. In other words, you cannot get high with hemp. CBD hemp oil is one of the most popular ways to consume CBD, but there are many other methods that are also very efficient and effective.

CBD has become a multi-billion business with hundreds of products and ways to consume it. At Imoto, we focus on vaping solutions for CBD and THC and we strive to offer only good quality vaping devices. Moreover, we only cooperate with the best CBD hemp oil and cannabis suppliers.

While smoking has been the most popular and common way to experience CBD, there are many other efficient (and healthier) methods. So, let’s start! Here there are 8 ways you can consume CBD:

8. CBD Creams

Many people use CBD creams for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Many people use CBD creams for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Many people use CBD creams for its anti-inflammatory properties. Apparently, CBD creams are a good way to reduce redness, acne and eczema. In addition, CBD creams might also help to heal wounds. CBD creams soaked into the skin but it won’t access your bloodstream. However, it will interact with our CB1 and CB2 receptors (our endocannabinoid system). CBD hemp oil would enter our bloodstream much faster if it’s absorbed through mucous membranes and lungs. Nonetheless, CBD creams are also an efficient method as it will also interact with our endocannabinoid system.

7. Tinctures

CBD hemp oils could be consumed in tincture form to treat anxiety, stress and many other ailments.

This is another form to consume CBD. CBD hemp oils could be consumed in tincture form to treat anxiety, stress and many other ailments. CBD has been promoted for its anti-cancer properties and also for its cardiovascular protection properties. Nonetheless, we cannot claim that CBD will protect you against cancer or heart disease. There are many preliminary studies, which means that we still need to do a lot of research. Therefore, we can just say that it has potential benefits. CBD hemp oil has been proved effective for certain forms of epilepsy and as an anxiety treatment.

6. CBD Pills

There are many CBD pills available in the market. It’s a discreet and convenient way to consume CBD.

There are many CBD pills available in the market. It’s a discreet and convenient way to consume CBD. CBD capsules are very convenient and easy intake method. However, it’s not cheap as good quality CBD capsules would cost more than 80 USD for just 30 capsules. This is one of the reasons why cannabis buds are still a very popular intake method. It’s much cheaper to vape dry herb than buying tinctures or capsules that will last for just 30 days or less.

5. Drink CBD

There are many CBD drinks from sparkling water to beers.
There are many CBD drinks from sparkling water to beers.

There are many CBD drinks such as soft drinks, teas, sodas, sparkling water and even beers. Nonetheless, a six pack of sparkling water containing just 10 ml each, would cost you approximately 40 USD…Which is quite expensive for a sparkling water. Other products, such as soft drink that contain CBD hemp oil are sold for 45 USD a pack of four cans containing each 16 mg of hemp. The price of CBD drinks ranges from 25 USD to 60 USD (usually for pack of 4 to 6 bottles or cans).  Would you buy CBD drinks or do you prefer other intake methods?

4. CBD Lubricants

Cannabis has been linked to an increase libido.
Cannabis has been linked to an increase libido.

I have written a blog post about cannabis and libido. Cannabis has been linked to an increase libido. According to some studies, women that used marijuana before sex were two times more likely to report satisfactory orgasms than those with limited use of cannabis. It’s not well-known how cannabis increases libido, but the most plausible theory is that it reduces anxiety levels. In other words, a reduction in anxiety means an increase in libido.

3. Eat it!

You can either bake your own cookies infused with CBD hemp oil or buy them.

You can either bake your own cookies infused with CBD hemp oil or buy them. There are many online recipes to bake CBD cookies. In addition, there are also gummy bears, candies and CBD chocolates.

CBD gummies aren’t cheap though. Usually, prices for 20 mg CBD gummies with 20 units per bottle is approximately 40 USD.

There are many kind of CBD edibles but the most common ones are chocolates, gummies, cookies and honey. You can even find roasted cashews infused with CBD.

2. Smoke CBD

Smoking CBD is still one of the most common methods.
Smoking CBD is still one of the most common methods.

Well, I guess I don’t need to explain that much about this intake method, right? Smoking CBD is still one of the most common methods. Why? Because it’s simple, a fast assimilating method and cheaper than edibles, tinctures, capsules etc.

However, smoking isn’t the healthiest method as the combustion of plant material produces tar. In addition, cannabis smokers tend to develop bronchitis after years of heavy smoking. Therefore, we recommend other intake methods. For instance, if you like smoking, then you can change to a safer alternative that offers a similar experience. This healthier alternative is vaping CBD hemp oil.

1. Vape CBD

At Imoto, we focus on CBD and THC vaping.
At Imoto, we focus on CBD and THC vaping.

At Imoto, we focus on CBD and THC vaping. Vaping CBD hemp oil is a fast and efficient intake method. There are mainly two vaping methods: dry-herb vaporizing and CBD hemp oil vaping. Both methods have its pros and cons.

Dry herb Vaporizing

Vapers who prefer dry herb vaporizing prefer it over CBD hemp oil because they always know what they are vaping. With pre-filled pods, someone has done the whole process for you and you don’t know exactly what the CBD oil contains.

Dry herb is more natural, as it hasn’t been processed (just the drying process of the buds that generally takes between 10 to 15 days).

CBD Hemp Oil Vaping

An advantage of vaping CBD hemp oil cartridges is how easy it is to use them. You just need to fill the cartridge (if it’s a refillable one) or connect it to your device and vape it (if it’s a prefilled disposable pod).

A prefilled pod is very convenient if you’re looking for simplicity and you don’t want to get involved in the process of preparing cannabis oil.

Both methods are very efficient and effective. Some vapers prefer dry-herb while some others consider CBD hemp oil more convenient.

We have listed 8 different methods for CBD hemp oil intake. Which one is your favorite method?

1. Cannabidiol and Athletic Performance
CBD could be an interesting supplement for athletes.
CBD could be an interesting supplement for athletes.

CBD isn’t a performance enhancing drug. Despite the fact that CBD isn’t a drug that improves sports performance, cannabinoids have been banned in sports, mainly due cultural aspects and lack of information.

Cannabis cannot be considered a performance enhancing substance. However, it could be an interesting supplement for athletes. There are three ways how CBD can help you improve your athletic performance:

·       CBD has anti-inflammatory properties

CBD has been used for many athletes to treat pain and inflammation. For example, we have already mentioned about the UFC fighter Nate Diaz. Nate Diaz and his brother Nick have created a company that produces CBD products.

Nate Diaz and other athletes have been using CBD products to treat and reduce inflammation after a fight or a strenuous sport activity.

·       CBD reduces anxiety

CBD has been mainly used to treat anxiety and for anger management. Anxiety isn’t our best ally to perform a task. For instance, anxiety affects our concentration and self-confidence.

Reducing our anxiety levels is the best way to improve athletic performance and other activities that require high concentration. CBD can help us reach our true potential.

·       CBD has neuroprotective properties

Administration of CBD may reduce short-term brain damage. This is especially interesting for contact sports athletes. Moreover, CBD administration was associated with cardiac, hemodynamic, and ventilatory beneficial effects. Furthermore, there are ongoing studies about CBD treatment for concussions.

2. CBD doesn’t Make You High

You will not get high with CBD.
You will not get high with CBD.

Perhaps you already know that CBD isn’t psychoactive. However, many people still associate cannabinoids with getting “high”. This is not the case of CBD, as it isn’t a cannabinoid with psychoactive properties like THC.

Nonetheless, we can say that CBD is a mood-altering substance. It has effects moderating anxiety, stress and depression and even psychosis. That said, it cannot be considered a psychoactive substance since it does not alter perception, nor does it cause optical effects or variations in time perception. However, saying that CBD isn’t “psychoactive” is technically wrong. CBD has mood-altering effects, but it doesn’t cause intoxication, nor does it cause euphoria.

3. CBD isn’t Addictive

CBD isn't addictive.
CBD isn’t addictive.

Cannabinoids can’t be considered addictive. There are two types of addiction: physical and psychological addictions. A physical addiction occurs when our body adapts to an external substance. When this substance or drug is taken away, then the user suffers from withdrawal symptoms.

CBD does not cause a physical or psychological addiction. You can stop using CBD at any moment and you won’t suffer from any withdrawal symptoms. However, you might experience increased anxiety or anger if you were using CBD for anxiety or anger management.

In conclusion, you don’t need to worry about CBD and addiction or withdrawal symptoms. Just vape it and enjoy it!

4. Many Extraction Methods

There are many extraction methods. Mainly we can classify the extraction methods in two groups: solvent and solvent-free methods.
There are many extraction methods. Mainly we can classify the extraction methods in two groups: solvent and solvent-free methods.

There are so many extraction methods. There are classic methods such as filtering. Filtering is still one of the most efficient methods to obtain high concentrations of kief (trichomes). This method is probably the most popular one, but dry ice is also a popular extraction method. Moreover, there is another “traditional” method called “bubble hash”. This process is simple, and it needs just ice, water and filters.

For CBD oil, we can classify the extraction methods as solvent and solvent-free ones.

Solvent based methods:

To obtain cannabis oil we need a solvent (could be ethanol, butane…) to separate the trichomes from the plant material. After that, we need to get rid of the ethanol or any other solvent and then start the decarboxylation process of the remnant cannabis solution.

Solvent-free methods:

The aforementioned filtering and bubble hash methods are both solvent-free methods. In addition, there are other extraction methods such as using CO2. Carbon dioxide acts as a solvent by extracting cannabinoids and essential oils from the plant material. Moreover, it acts as a versatile solvent that is much safer than butane extraction methods. Furthermore, CO2 extraction of CBD is the perfect method for users looking for clean, toxic-free cannabis byproducts.

5. You can consume it in Many Forms

Edibles, tinctures, oils, creams, shampoos, body gels, vaping…There are many ways to consume CBD.
Edibles, tinctures, oils, creams, shampoos, body gels, vaping…There are many ways to consume CBD.

Edibles, tinctures, oils, creams, shampoos, body gels, vaping…There are many ways to consume CBD. Some methods are more effective than others. For instance, if you are looking for a fast effect and efficient intake method, then you should consider vaping. Vaping is easy, fast and very efficient. For example, you won’t need to wait for hours to feel its effects. Other methods, such as CBD edibles, last for a longer time but it also takes hours to feel its effects.

In addition, vaping is a safer alternative than smoking cannabis. Although smoking is a fast intake method, it can damage your lungs and health. Vaping CBD doesn’t affect your lungs like smoking. Therefore, vaping is considered a safer alternative.

6. CBD and Many Positive Health Effects

CBD has been used mainly for the treatment of anxiety, stress and as a treatment for certain types of epilepsy.
CBD has been used mainly for the treatment of anxiety, stress and as a treatment for certain types of epilepsy.

It has been used mainly for the treatment of anxiety, stress and as a treatment for certain types of epilepsy. Moreover, CBD is being researched as a treatment for many other diseases such as fibromyalgia, as a potential treatment for cancer or even as a substitute for opioids. However, we can only say that CBD was FDA-approved (trade name Epidiolex) for the treatment of two forms of treatment-resistant epilepsy. In other words, CBD has only been proved effective as a treatment for certain forms of epilepsy.

Other claimed CBD properties are just speculations or potential properties. In conclusion, we still need more research to understand how CBD works and for what it is useful.

7. CBD: Full Spectrum vs Isolates

The entourage effect means that the plant as a whole has more positive effects than each isolated cannabinoid.
The entourage effect means that the plant as a whole has more positive effects than each isolated cannabinoid.

Cannabis isolates are crystalline powders that contain only one cannabinoid. For example, a CBD isolate only contains CBD. Apparently, full spectrum is more efficient than cannabis isolates. According to a study from the University of Jerusalem, “CBD in the presence of other plant constituents improve the dose-response showing that CBD in a standardized Cannabis sativa extract is more potent or efficacious than pure CBD”.

In the cannabis community, this is called the “entourage effect”. In other words, the plant as a whole has more positive effects than each isolated cannabinoid. The entourage effect isn’t entirely understood, and we still don’t know why it is more efficient than using cannabis isolates.

One of the most common topics about CBD vape oil and CBD vaping is if it’s safe to vape it. CBD has become very popular for its medical properties for the treatment of anxiety, epilepsy and other health issues. In addition, there are many other CBD oil benefits and many users have benefited from the use of CBD.

Nonetheless, many users are worried due to recent news that cannabis products have caused respiratory problems to people. These health problems were caused by counterfeit products that contained dangerous substances included some cartridges that contained corrosives.

Before starting, let’s point out that CBD oil is safe to vape. However, it’s important to buy only certified CBD products and never counterfeits or black-market CBD vape juices.

What is CBD?

We have written many articles about CBD and CBD oil benefits. As you may know, CBD is a cannabinoid that is not psychoactive and has many medical properties. CBD has been used mainly in the treatment of anxiety and epilepsy. In addition, there are other potential benefits of using CBD oil. For example, CBD has been studied as a treatment for ADHD, fibromyalgia, to lower the pain from chemo and also to reduce inflammation.

Where does CBD come from?

CBD is a cannabinoid, one of the more than hundred cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Moreover, there are many ways to extract CBD from cannabis plants. For instance, you can choose between smoking CBD-rich strains, vape CBD (oil or dry herb), CBD isolates, CBD edibles, tinctures and many more.

CBD oil is obtained using solvent or solvent-free methods. For example, solvent based methods use mainly butane and alcohol as a solvent. On the other hand, some vapers prefer a purer form of CBD extraction and CO2 extraction is the most common solvent-free extraction method. If you want to learn more about solvent vs solvent-free extraction methods, we have an article where we explain the whole process and its differences.

CBD Oil Benefits

1) CBD as a substitute for opioids

CBD has been studied as a substitute for opioids. You have probably heard about the opioid crisis in the US that has caused an opioid epidemic. The opioid epidemic in the US has caused more than 70000 drug overdoses in 2018 and it has also caused approximately 130 deaths every year in the United States.

CBD and other cannabinoids are studied for their potential use as a substitute for or complement for opiates in the treatment of chronic pain. Researches are still on a preliminary phase, but there are reasons for optimism.

CBD could help reduce and mitigate the negative effects of opioid overuse.

2) CBD and anger management

When anger becomes a problem, CBD can help to manage it. For example, some people, specially adolescents, suffer from intermittent explosive disorder. Our endocannabinoid system uses CBD to regulate chemical imbalances in our bodies. In addition, CBD helps to reduce high levels of stress, which are one of the main causes of uncontrolled anger.

Reduce stress and anxiety is one of the main CBD oil benefits. Many CBD users have experienced improvements in reducing both anxiety and anger after a prolonged CBD use.  Furthermore, chronic pain also contributes to increase anger and CBD helps to mitigate chronic pain.

Pain is regulated in our bodies by anandamide. CBD helps to block the enzymes that break down anandamide and thus, helping reduce pain.

Vaping is one of the fastest acting times of all intake methods. Furthermore, it doesn’t produce any carcinogens that are produced if we smoke plant materials.

3) CBD Vaping is a Fast-Acting Intake Method

Vaping is a fast intake method. When you vape, CBD is absorbed in the mucous membranes in the mouth and also in the lungs. CBD enter the blood system and reaches the brain faster than with tinctures or edibles. Therefore, vaping is considered one of the fast-acting intake methods. If you are looking for a fast-acting CBD intake method, vaping is a good choice for you. A fast-acting intake method is one of the most interesting CBD oil benefits.

4) CBD Oil Potential Use

We have already mentioned that CBD has been researched as a substitute for opioids and also as a treatment for people who suffer from intermittent explosive disorder. However, there are many other potential CBD oil benefits. For example, we know that CBD is also very efficient to treat anxiety, but perhaps you don’t know that CBD could also be efficient in the treatment of anxiety issues caused by ADHD and ADD. Both ADHD and ADD cause anxiety and CBD helps to reduce and mitigate it. Therefore, CBD could be useful to improve ADHD and ADD symptoms. CBD for ADD and ADHD might help with comorbidities associated with ADHD and ADD. In addition, some studies claim that cannabinoids can help to mitigate impulsive behaviors and hyperactivity.

5) CBD Oil and Cancer

There are studies that have investigated the role of CBD in preventing cancer cell growth. In addition, CBD is useful to alleviate pain. For instance, cannabinoids have been studied for relief of pain, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, and loss of appetite caused by cancer or the side effects of cancer therapies.

Nonetheless, CBD and other cannabinoids are not yet approved substance for use in cancer treatment. However, both CBD and THC have been widely used in cancer patients to relieve pain.

Conclusion: CBD Oil Benefits

You know more about CBD oil benefits. Many CBD users have already benefited from it. In addition, there are many promising studies about CBD and its role in preventing cancer cell growth. However, these researches are still in preliminary phase.

We have started to understand the medical uses of cannabis. For just a few years ago, cannabis was just a recreational drug with no medical properties. However, many cannabis advocates insisted on the therapeutic properties of the many cannabinoids present in marijuana. For instance, THC has been used as an antiemetic. In addition, CBD oil has been used as an efficient treatment for anxiety and certain forms of epilepsy. Furthermore, many people claim CBD is useful for many other diseases such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and even ADHD. We give you five things you should know about CBD oil and cannabis vaping. Let’s dive in!

1. Choose the Right Device

If you want to vape CBD oil or THC, it’s important you choose the right vape. Not all vapes are suitable for cannabis vaping. For example, you need a vaping device that offers an efficient e-liquid absorption. Imoto employs ceramic cells because THC and CBD oils are thicker than normal e-liquids.  A CBD oil cartridge usually employs a ceramic coil because of its superb absorption and flavor delivery properties.

In addition, we also have dual ceramic cells to offer a better e-liquid absorption. Furthermore, our cartridges are made with the best Pyrex glass because a Pyrex glass heats quicker, it’s more resistant and many vapers claim that it improves e-liquid delivery and flavor.

Do your research and choose only an efficient vaping equipment with an efficient atomizer and a high-quality mod and battery.

2. Many Different Cannabinoids and Options

There are more than 100 cannabinoids.
There are more than 100 cannabinoids.

Did you know that there are more than 100 cannabinoids? You have probably heard about THC and CBD, but there are other useful cannabinoids with therapeutic properties.

You should choose to vape CBD or THC depending on your needs. For example, CBD oil is a good alternative for people with anxiety issues. In addition, CBD oil doesn’t get you high and you won’t experience any form of psychosis that is sometimes associated with a chronic use of THC.

Moreover, you can also vape or consume cannabis products known as “full-spectrum”. In other words, cannabis products with more than one cannabinoid. You have probably heard the term “entourage effect”. This is a theory that claims that cannabinoids and terpenes work better when they are combined. That is to say, a sort of synergy.

3. Dry vaping or Oil Vaping

You can choose between CBD oil or dry herb.
You can choose between CBD oil or dry herb.

It’s more common to vape CBD oil, but there are also dry herb vaporizers in the market. What’s the advantage with dry herb vaporization? The main advantage is that you know what you are vaporizing. In other words, it is much harder to adulterate than CBD or THC oils.

Perhaps you remember the vaping crisis in the US and that it was caused by black-market THC e-liquids. These black-market e-liquids contained vitamin E acetate that is commonly used as a diluent thickener. The CDC strongly links EVAPI to vitamin E acetate. Therefore, it’s extremely important that you only buy CBD oil or THC products from reputable brands. These products must pass quality controls and you should know its composition and ingredients.

4. Choose the Right Strain

Different strains have different levels of THC or CBD.
Different strains have different levels of THC or CBD.

If you are interested in vaping CBD, you probably don’t want your vape oil to contain more than 0.3% of THC. There are multiple reasons to get a vaping oil that doesn’t contain THC. For example, you don’t want to get high, or you don’t want to fail a drug test that sometimes is required by institutions and companies.

The same could be applied if you vape dry herb. Certain cannabis strains contain high levels of THC while some others are high in CBD. If you don’t want to get “high” then you should go for cannabis strains with low THC. For instance, CBD oil is obtained from hemp, which are cannabis plants with THC levels below 0.3%.

5. Trust Only Reliable CBD Providers

 Trust Only Reliable CBD companies.
Trust Only Reliable CBD companies.

In this blog, we have already mentioned the importance of trusting only reliable cannabis providers. Moreover, you should always avoid black-market CBD oil or THC oil. For example, Vitamin E acetate was used in black-market juices to cheaply thin cannabis e-juices.  Vitamin E acetate is safe for food supplements and creams; however, it’s absolutely not recommended in vaping products. Many health authorities think that vitamin E acetate is the biggest culprit behind the EVAPI health crisis.

CBD Oil: Conclusion

CBD vaping isn’t very complicated. However, you need to remember some basic aspects before you start your CBD or THC vaping journey.

1) A good vaping device: you can check our website for CBD vaping kits, both refillable and disposable cartridges.

2) Choose the right cannabinoid for you. It’s not the same CBD vaping than THC vaping. Moreover, there are many other cannabinoids such as CBC or CBG.

3) You can choose between CBD oil or dry herb vaping. CBD oil is convenient while dry herb vaping has the advantage that you always know what you are vaping.

4) Pay attention to cannabis strains. Some strains are high in CBD while other are high in THC.

5) Finally, and very important, trust only reliable providers!
